A Tenacious Legal Team With Proven Results

Get enough auto insurance. Your loved ones will thank you.

Alvine Law Firm, LLP | Jul 20, 2020 | Alvine Law, Personal Injury |

The question we always get asked is, “How much auto insurance for bodily injury should I have in case I’m involved in a serious accident?”

Keep in mind, when you buy auto insurance, you’re not only insuring your auto, you’re insuring yourself and your loved ones. It must be enough to cover for all your losses.

If you’re injured in a car accident and the party that hurts you has no insurance or little insurance, you can recover under your own policy. When you purchase auto insurance for bodily injury, you must keep in mind it should be enough to cover you for all damages you may have received  from that accident. This includes medical bills, permanent injury, pain and suffering and lost wages.

Too often I’ve seen someone in my office who’s been seriously injured only to find out that they only have $25,000 in a policy and hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills.

Don’t be like that.

Don’t put yourself in a position where you cannot get compensated for all your damages.

In South Dakota, the law requires every automobile insurance policy to insure a person for bodily injury up to $25,000. That’s called a minimum policy and it is almost always never enough to cover all damages that happen in a serious accident.

Call your insurance adjuster today and ask them, what kind of bodily injury limits do I have on my policy? If you only have $25,000, you should purchase as much as you can afford.

If you’re seriously injured in an accident, don’t be that person who can’t recover for their pain and suffering. Lost wages and medical bills. Let the Alvine Weidenaar personal injury law team represent you.

As always, we’re fighting for the injury.
