The answer is generally no. The injured employee has the right to select their physician. We normally recommend that you go to your family doctor because your family doctor knows your medical condition the best.
If your injury requires emergency treatment, the situation is different. Following the trip to the emergency room, your care is usually handled by a specialist. However, remember you have the right for a second opinion which we always reccomend be your family doctor.
